Treatment

Women’s Health

Mummy MOT

mummy motA specialist service for mum from 6 weeks onwards. This assessment includes an indepth assessment of pelvic floor and abdominal muscle function and helps new mums to find a pathway back to health and fitness.

Pelvic Health

A specialist area of physiotherapy covering all areas of pelvic health. Our highly specialised physiotherapists are trained to examine, manage and treat and wide variety of conditions including:

  • Bowel and Bladder Incontience
  • Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse
  • Sexual Dysfunction

Urogynaecological surgery

Many women (and men) will undergo some form of urological or gynaecological surgery in their lifetime. Our specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapists have experience with the post-operative management of a wide variety of conditions including:

  • Hysterectomy
  • Prolapse and bladder repair
  • Prostatectomy
  • Diastasis Recti (Tummy Gap Repair)

Pregnancy Related Pain

During pregnancy postural and hormonal changes can place pressure on the body resulting in a variety of musculoskeletal pains. Our highly trained physiotherapists can assess and treat these problems, helping you to navigate a difficult period. Following a detailed assessment a tailored treatment and rehabilitation program will be provided. We also offer ante-natal Pilates and Pregnancy massage to help support the muscular system and aid symptoms.

We are able to provide specialist help for a variety of conditions including:
  • Back and neck pain
  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Symphysis pubis dysfunction
  • Rib and Thoracic Pain

Menopause/perimenopause

During menopause and perimenopause hormonal changes can lead to a variety of musculoskeletal and pelvic health symptoms. Our highly trained Pelvic Health physiotherapists can assess, treat and manage a wide variety of symptoms including:
  • Incontinence
  • Prolapse
  • Musculoskeletal pain
  • Tendinitis

Women in Sport

This under-represented group are often treated as ‘little men’ when it comes to sports injuries and return to sport following pregnancy. Our specialist physiotherapists will work with you to better understand your condition and support you in your recovery including cycle tracking, tailored exercise programmes and up-to-date evidence based pathways. Our highly trained therapists have undergone post-graduate training in areas such as:
  • Female athlete health
  • Exercise during pregnancy
  • Hypermobility
  • Energy Deficiency Syndromes
  • Menopause and Exercise

Pregnancy Massage

Massage therapy is considered safe throughout pregnancy and we understand that women will experience different symptoms at different times during their pregnancy. Our specially trained massage therapists have undergone further training in pregnancy massage and can provide treatments at all stages ante and post natally. Pregnancy massage is often used alongside an exercise rehabilitation program, provided by our specialist pelvic health physiotherapists to aid symptoms and recovery.

Ante and Post Natal Pilates

We provide a specialist, physio-led, ante and post-natal Pilates service. This is available 1-2-1 or in small group classes and we can arrange classes specifically for a group if they wish. All exercises are safe for pre or post baby and we are very happy for you to bring baby to class if you wish.
